I’ve shared pictures of postage stamps, but today I thought I’d share some coins that depict cats. The U. S. state quarters have some birds, horses, cow (Wisconsin), bison, fish (Washington), and bear (Alaska). But mostly we have a lot of eagles and buffalo on our coins. It’s interesting to find foreign coins with animals, especially cats.
This one if from the Isle of Man.
And this lioness is from the Republic of Chad.
Stamp and coin collecting aren’t as popular as they once were, but I find it’s an interesting way to see various styles of art and learn a bit of geography and history.

We love these. The mom has always wanted a necklace or chain with a cat coin on it.
Gorgeous but they’re not Manx cats…
This is awesome. Cats are definitely part of world history.
I haven’t ever collected those things, but I definitely think it’s interesting! I’d love to see more of the cat coins.
Those are the only two I have. I also have an elephant and a koala.
Those are nice, thanks for sharing. And thank you for the words of comfort you left on my blog for the loss of Phoebe. XO
My human has a handful of coins from when she used to collect as a kid… she would love to get one of those Isle of Man cat coins!
They did a large series of coins. The one I have is silver, but you can get the non-precious metal version for under $10 on ebay.
Very nice! Of course, our favorite is the first one. 🙂
Cool coins.
Those are really cat cool!
Wow! Great, informative post! Who knew?
Those look great!
How cool are these. Wow I want them all right now. I love seeing coins and stamps that are special!
These are awesome. More coins should have us on them, I say!
Those are really cool!
